There have been so many articles on the net regarding this topic.But I always wanted to write a big ass article on this .I hope you will enjoy and get something useful from this post.So without much ado lets get started Making money on the net most often involves building a website and promoting products as an affiliate,or showing relevant ads on your blog and making money from them.I will mention about these things and also some other different ways of making money online.

1. Advertising programs:

   • adsense We see it daily almost on any webpage.Google’s flagship product and one that is bringing Google and webmasters a lot of money.Actually there is an industry out there which deals with making money from adsense only.This is the most obvious first choice of any webmaster.Not all succeed in it though.Some don’t even reach their initial cut of 100$ while some others make loads of money from it.With the recent modifications in the terms and conditions earnings from Google adsense are reportedly going down for many websites.
   • yahoo publisher network Yahoo is getting serious about online advertisement,and in due course of time may emerge as a real challenger for Google.Though,at present, the entry into this program is restricted to individuals from US only,hopefully it will provide universal access to publishers from all countries in the near future.If you are the lucky one,who belongs to US, you might start working with it as it is reported the earnings per click is higher in Yahoo compared to Google.The problem with Yahoo is it is still new and it can’t serve targeted ads to your sites.Mostly the ads which will be served to your site will not be related to the content of your site.So your earnings may actually be less,though it pays more per click than Google.
   • textlinkads place to buy or sell text link ads.Here the advertiser chooses from a list of available websites or blogs and wants to placel text links on that website.You will be payed 50% of the money.The processing and payment is all taken care of by TLA.Though Google has cracked down on websites or blogs selling text link ads it still is going on and it is a pretty useful way of making money from your blog,and many top blogs including Darren Rowse earn a big chunk of money from TLA.One more thing the ads delivered are not contextual ads.They may be relevant to your site or may not be.But the good thing is you can approve or disapprove any of the ads and keep complete control of what kind of ads are displayed on your blog.
   • bidvertiser another advertising network where advertisers will bid for the ad slots on your website and you can place the ads of the highest bidder.It also provides you the option to show ads in your feeds. 2. Affiliate programs and networks:

   This is an another great source of income for bloggers.People go about in different ways in increasing their affiliate income.Some run PPC campaigns others run CPA campaigns and few solely generate affiliate sales based on the content of their blog.Affiliate marketing is one of the most fascinating and lucrative way of making money from blogs.Initially it may seem difficult but once you get the trick there is literally no limit on how much bucks you can make online.

   • Commission junction :One of the biggest affiliate networks with top-notch advertisers.You can find here products suitable for a variety of publishers.You can find various kinds of special offers from various publishers and promote those products on your site.Not every advertiser will allow you to promote their products.One thing I like about CJ is the ability to contact the advertiser.You can use the ads provided by the advertiser,which may be banner ads,text ads .You can even promote some products via email marketing also.You can run PPC campaigns if you have the money to promote products.
   • clickbank:The one stop solution for digital products on the internet.If you want to sell digital products like ebooks,softwares then this is the place for you.It boasts of some of the highest commission payouts in the affiliate industry which can go upto 75%.Though some consider it a scam and sometimes it really looks one if you browse through the products.But if you find the correct product,do some keyword research you can make some really obscene amount of money out of it.The thing which is irritating about it is the publishers can’t contact the advertisers so that they can get a preview of the product which they are promoting,as it is worthwhile to know what you are actually asking your readers to buy.You may loose the trust of your readers if you promote some crap products.So it’s better to be careful.
   • amazon:Another popular affiliate network with almost all kinds of products.It’s now providing more tools for affiliates to incorporate their products into their websites .The Brand value ,the range of products available for promotion make it a must have affiliate program for any webmaster,even though the commission rates are a bit less.You can even build an amazon affiliate site ,with just the products and nothing else.
   • ebay:Similar in the mould of Amazon but with still wider reach.Now it has got it’s own publisher network.But people are complaining in forums that there is some problem with their affiliate tracking and their earnings are decreasing.Hopefully these problems will get solved in due course.

   Some final words before proceeding to the next part .It’s worth to mention again that affiliate marketing is the most lucrative option to make money online.It would be a better practice to first try a few affiliate programs and if they don’t work go for others,as some may work for you and some may not.Always be willing to try different methods.If possible try to invest some money as it can bring higher returns.It’s not just through affiliate networks you could do affiliate networking but you can go to an individual site and sign up under their affiliate program and promote their products.What affiliate networks do is they help you avoid the trouble of signing up individually to each affiliate program.

3. Build a web directory :If you are ready to spend some 3-4 hours daily,initially, and willing to spend some money in promoting your directory then web-directories can be a source of steady income.Some people have around some 20-30 web directories and are making their living out of web-directories.All you need for starting a web-directory is a good script,a webhosting package with a domain name and the right promotion.It’s not as simple as it sounds,but a little hardwork will surely pay you rich dividends.
4. Build a niche store :Though I already mentioned about ebay in the affiliate programs BANS definitely needs a special mention.BANS is actually a script through which Ebay affiliates can promote Ebay products .Though ebay itself provides some tools for affiliates to promote their products,it need a bit of tweaking ,which requires a bit of technical knowledge.So this is an easy way for those who don’t know about coding or who don’t want to take all that trouble can go with it.It costs 97$.But you are sure to get back your investment if you promote your BANS site properly.There is one more thing,a wordpress plugin called PHPbaypro to incorporate ebay into your site.It costs around 40$ but you need to be familiar with a bit of PHP coding.
5. Write articles: If you don’t want to build a blog or website but believe you can write compelling and useful articles then you can try this.You can write article for sitepoint,about.com,worldstart.You can get paid anywhere between 35$ to 100$.If you can write articles for these websites then you can really build a successful website.
6. Get paid to Blog:These are slightly different from the above in that you need to have a website and usually you will be writing about specific topics or products from advertisers.Some of the popular programs in this category are payperpost and reviewme .It’s usually necessary to have a blog with a good pagerank and traffic to get into these programs.Some programs allow you ti place a widget on your blog specifying the amount you will charge to write a review about any product or blog or whatever.Some popular blogs like johnchow uses reviewme on his blog and he charges 500$ per review.earnings from this type of programs form a major part of his earnings,the details of which he posts every month on his blog.So important thing is pagerank and traffic. 7. Sell an ebook: If you are an expert in anything and you think people are interested in that topic you can write your own ebook and sell it .You can sell it in various web forums or sites like clickbank. One more way of doing this thing is buy ebooks with reseller rights and again sell them at a higher rate.You can actually get a lot of e-books with reseller rights,in bulk and if possible add some of your content repackage them and sell them again at a premium.
8. Become an online real estate agent:I mean start a blog or websites ,put some good content in it get some back links,improve it’s pagerank generate some traffic and sell it at a premium.Or else buy sites with low page rank add some more quality content ,increase it’s page rank further and again sell it at a premium.It’s easy to say ,but it too needs some effort and possibly some investment also.Some of the best places to buy and sell sites are forums especially the sitepoint forums.
9. Coding and template designs:If you are well versed in designing and know PHP and mysql then you can build premium themes for wordpress .One more beautiful thing about building wordpress themes is the amount of backlinks you will get if you have a site.Give some themes for free with a link back at the bottom to your site and your pagerank will rocket up.You can also get dedicated readers easily if you are an expert in design and coding.You can also build templates for other blogging platforms like blogger ,which is much more easier as it is coded in html and css only and it’s not that difficult to learn html and css by yourself.But PHP and Mysql need professional training to learn.
10. Adult websites:Adult websites can be real money spinners.Nothing sells better than sex.But the niche is highly competitive and you have to put in a little extra effort but the results are great.The thing is Google doesn’t serve ads for adult websitses.So other options have to be looked at mainly the signups from users.The commissions for adult affiliates are really good.Usually you will be provided all the promotional material including the videos ,pictures and galleries to host on your site.All that needs to be done is drive traffic to the site and promote.
11. Blogger jobs:A lot of bloggers ,due to time constraints won’t be able to post regularly on their blog .So they will be looking for other fellow bloggers or writers who could write content for their blogs regularly.They will usually pay you on per post basis.You can find a list of jobs most of the popular sites like the problogger jobboards or Usually the advertisers will specify the topic on which you have to blog and you can choose from a range of blogger jobs.You also can post your profile saying I am available for writing blog posts and advertisers will contact you.
12. 13. Gaming:Yeah through online gaming also you can make money as various gaming sites arrange variety of contests for gamers and handout handsome prizes.One more way of making money through gaming is building an online gaming website.It doesn’t need to be a real hi fi site but a simple arcade gaming site will do.Traffic has to be brought to your site so arrange a contest ,handout prizes and do things like that and you can make money with advertisements .

15. Make money answering questions:Some sites like justanswer jyve pay you to answer questions asked by it’s users.
16. Earn while you surf:algoco pays you to surf the internet .Just download their toolbar and start surfing the net to get paid.
17. Torrents: This is the hottest thing now.There are many ways you can earn money through torrents.The first one is write a e-book ,give it an attention grabbing title include your affiliate links in it and create a torrent and upload it . Be careful as some advertisers wont agree with these kind of things.If you want to circumvent this thing write an ebook include a link to your site and when the visitor comes to your site following the link you can promote your affiliate products on your site.This works in double way .You will be able to increase the traffic to your site and also increase your affiliate sites.Adult sites can benefit from this kind of thing.Get some promotional video and add a link in the video to your site somewhere in the video.You can get really massive traffic by this method.
18. Make money by uploading your pictures:shareapic allows you to upload your pictures to their site and share with others and for this you get paid money.It Works on the CPM principle i.e it pays 0.22 dollars for 1000 pic views.It also allows you to add bidvertiser code in your image and gallery pages.
19. Selling products :You purchase some thing ,say a laptop which is available at a discounted rate in one auction site and sell it on other site for a higher price.There are many sites which will be offering, daily, some products at a discount.Buy it on one and sell it on another.You can check in craiglist for things on sale in your city.
20. Taking surveys :There are many sites which will pay you for taking online surveys.Here is one where you can join .Usually these sites require you to pay some money upfront but you can get back your investment easily.
