   There are many other softwares like youtube grabber ,downtube etc .But among the softwares which I have tried I found this to be useful and I recommend you start with this and may try some other softwares later
4. downloadhelper.net This one is for firefox lovers as it is an awesome firefox extension .Among all the ones I have mentioned above this one is the best according to me.It supports downloading of embedded videos from about 200 sites and the list is still improving.You can not only download videos but also embedded audio and also images from a gallery on a webpage .I can’t fully explain the features as it will make this a very lengthy post and I believe it usually upsets the visitor to your site unless it contains some extraordinary ground breaking content.You just check their manual and it has been clearly explained with images and all.It will hardly take 10-15 minutes and you will be up and running.

It has got good virus ,trojan detection rates and the boot time scan helps in detecting those viruses which are not picked up otherwise.you have to register with them to activate the software and I think it’s for their statistical purposes and nothing else .And you won’t get unnecessary mails prompting to buy their other softwares .
2. Spybot search and destroy An anti-spyware software to keep you protected from spyware and adware .spybot search and destroy is a veteran in the industry and it has maintained it’s reputation as one of the leading anti-spyware software manufacturer .This too has got good options like real time protection ,regular updates and good detection rates .This along with avast will do for your home pc and I don’t see any reason for you to go for any paid softwares if you practice some safe browsing methods
3. Roboform This is the second time I am mentioning this software just because I can’t get enough of this software .This makes your life on the net mighty easier . You don’t have to remember your login data,don’t worry about filling those long registration forms.Though the free version can only remember 10 login id’s and some other restrictions are also there . But if I have to suggest you paying for a software then this will be the one because it’s worth it’s salt

Limewire ,I think, is the leading p2p software on the net .This one has saved me a lot of money .If you are a avid fan of movies,music then this is a must for you.You can get almost all the recent movies here and for free .The latest version has got bit-torrent support also.Prior to using this software you better go to the forum’s and learn a few issues regarding it’s usage ,otherwise you might be downloading some crap and your system might come to a grinding halt and then you will start complaining about this software .The interface is pretty simple and you can get almost any movies and songs here .I don’t think there is a need to buy the pro version to increase your speed of downloading as the free version itself is enough, I think.But if you want to help these guys for such a commendable job you might consider buying the pro version .
5. free download manager I tried a lot of download managers ,or accelerators whichever you like to name ,until I came across this software which is a free software .It has got the usual features of a regular download managers and some quiet good extra features which make it a great software.It can download you-tube videos and videos from many video sites and can convert them to various formats so you can use upload the files to your ipod’s mp3 player..It has got other features like html spider and also built in ftp support and many more ,which you can go through on their website.Though it’s speed is downloading speed is not as same as some of the paid softwares but for free you are getting lot of other features and you will be spared of the necessity to download a separate software for downloading youtube and other videosites,and converting them to various formats.
6. auslogics disk defragmenter is a very nice little program which lets you defragment your fragmented hard-disks to improve the speed of your system as fragmentation is the usual reason for slowing down ,or shutdown of the systems .It has a very easy user interface and the defragmentation process is much faster than the in-built windows defragmenter .

Glary utilities it is a great kit of softwares to keep your system in apt condition .you have got registry cleaner , you can erase your browsing history ,you can empty your recycle bin in one click .It has got a startup manager so you can keep a tab on the startup programs ,and still many more features .It can be said to be a counterpart of the popular shareware Tuneup utilities and it does it’s job pretty well

Kompozer is a WYSIWYG(what you see is what you get ) html editor .It is an open source project and a worthy free replacement to dreamweaver and frontpage.Though it’s not as efficient as them but it does make your life a lot easier while editing webpages and saves you a lot of time .It is considered as the bug-fixed variant of the popular html editor Nvu editor .It can be downloaded from the site sourceforge.net

KM player the all in one solution to your media player problems .You just throw any type of media file and it seems to read it .There are other softwares like VLC media player ,but what I like about this is the user interface which is so cool and it has got easy control features via keyboard .So try it and I hope you will enjoy it .
10. foxit reader is a very small piece of software but it does a commendable job .It is a pdf document viewer and printer and it is just over 2mb of size and it is quiet fast ,not like the adobe reader which takes over 120mb of disk space after installation and damn slow .Just to view a document I don’t think that kind of software is really needed .Just download this and free up your disk space and also enhance your speed while dealing with pdf files
